BIO
Sue Schauls is an independent Environmental Consultant with specific expertise in the automotive industry. She developed the I-CARE certification program for the Iowa Automotive Recyclers association. Sue gained her environmental expertise working at University of Northern Iowa as a Waste Reduction Specialist, Program Manager and a Chemical Specialist from January 1995 through March 2008.
She has a BA Science: Environmental Planning from University of Northern Iowa - 1996.

Sue has extensive environmental regulatory expertise as she was previously Program Manager at the Iowa Waste Reduction Center, the state’s small business environmental assistance program where she conducted applied research in waste reduction as well as small business training. She also managed paint and new environmental technology programs as well as coordinated the nationwide Mobile Outreach for Pollution Prevention (MOPP) demonstration vehicle where she taught small business about pollution prevention and waste management from a customized Winnebago. She trained over 7,000 people in the MOPP which toured 23 states and 67 Iowa counties in twelve years.
She currently serves as the Executive Director and regulatory consultant to the Iowa Automotive Recyclers (IAR) and is the I-CARE Program Manager.
She teaches state sanctioned dealer education courses through Iowa community colleges for the Iowa Independent Automotive Dealers Association (IIADA) for dealer licensing renewal. She contributes articles to several trade publications and participates in the national Auto Recycling Association (ARA) as a member for the Technical Advisory, Safety, Affiliate Chapters, and the Certified Auto Recyclers Committees.
She is an avid photographer and traveler who enjoys the outdoors through gardening, camping and nature hikes. She serves as the Vice President for the Landlords of Black Hawk, Inc. and is a rental property owner.
